Speculations about Samsung‘s next flagship series began shortly after the previous release. Like previous lineups, the new series is expected to include three models: the standard Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Several leaks and reports have shared key details of these models, and a recent report suggests the lineup might launch earlier than expected.
According to an SBS Biz report, the Galaxy S24 series is slated to launch on January 17 at an event in San Francisco, USA. This aligns with earlier claims placing the launch in early to mid-January.
Samsung Strategic Shift
The report indicates that Samsung is considering an earlier launch due to the flagship series being seen as a crucial product, especially after facing lower-than-expected performance in its semiconductor business and sales of Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, introduced at a Galaxy Unpacked event in Seoul on July 26. This move might also be influenced by competition with Apple, which unveiled its iPhone 15 series in September. The Galaxy S23 series launched on February 17 this year, while the previous year saw the introduction of the Galaxy S22 flagship models on February 10, 2022. By launching the Galaxy S24 lineup earlier, the company aims to compete more vigorously in the market.
The Galaxy S23 FE model is set to launch in South Korea on December 1, with a reported price of KRW 800,000 (Roughly 50,822 INR). This release is seen as an effort to counteract the sluggish sales of the Galaxy S23 series, which were attributed to a broader economic slowdown in the country. Samsung expected that the mid-range Fan Edition model will help boost sales.
