New Kia Carnival 2024 Officially Unveiled

New Generation Kia Carnival gets refreshed looks inside out along with more equipment.

A couple of days following the unveiling of the updated Carnival’s exterior design, Kia has now provided official information about the MPV. The refreshed iteration of the fourth-generation Carnival, which had been spotted during testing earlier this year, has at last been showcased. Bookings for the MPV are currently available in Korea.

The refreshed Carnival undergoes a significant transformation in design compared to the KA4 MPV showcased at the Auto Expo in January. Featuring a more upright nose, a broad grille, and L-shaped headlamps with daytime running lamps. The design incorporates chrome elements in the grille. The bumper sports a lower air intake surrounded by a faux brushed aluminum skid plate.

At the rear, the L-shaped theme continues with connected tail-lamps through an LED light bar. The rear bumper combines matte black and chrome elements.

Coming to side view, the facelifted Carnival grants you 19-inch alloys, resembling those found on newer Kia models like the EV5 and EV9. However, models with the hybrid powertrain receive slightly smaller 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Carnival is versatile with 4-, 7-, and 9-seater configurations, featuring a new curved infotainment unit spanning the driver’s side dashboard. Dual 12.3-inch screens serve as the digital instruments and infotainment displays. Below the central screen, you’ll find revamped AC and audio controls. Also features a rotary drive selector, front and rear dash cameras, a heads-up display, a digital rearview mirror, an updated digital key, ambient dashboard lighting, and the unique option to start the vehicle using your fingerprint.

Kia emphasizes improved infotainment support for over-the-air updates, enhanced cabin ambience with superior sound insulation materials, and upgraded ride comfort via adjustments to the MPV’s shock absorbers. Also there’s an option available 14.6-inch rear entertainment screen.

Safety-wise, the facelifted Carnival boasts an updated ADAS suite, including adaptive cruise control and lane change assist. The international model comes standard with eight airbags.

The All New Carnival Powertrain Options

The Carnival facelift offers three powertrain options: a 3.5-liter petrol, a 1.6-liter petrol hybrid, and a 2.2-liter diesel. The petrol hybrid stands out with a robust 245hp and 367Nm. The specific powertrain for the Indian market is yet to be disclosed.

Kia India has confirmed that the upcoming version of the Carnival is set to arrive in India, emphasizing a commitment to introducing the latest models in the market. Positioned between the Toyota Innova and the Vellfire, the Carnival holds a unique position in the MPV market without direct rivals.
