At EICMA 2023, Kawasaki has revealed two latest middleweight offerings – the Ninja 500 and Z500. These motorcycles share a common liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine and are expected to be introduced in the Indian market in the next year.

Engine & Power
Detailed information on the engine is yet to be fully disclosed, but what we do know is that despite being labeled as “500cc models”, both bikes are equipped with the same 451cc parallel-twin engine recently introduced in the Eliminator 500. This high-revving engine, producing 45.4hp at 9000rpm and 42.6Nm at 6000rpm in the cruiser-oriented Eliminator, is expected to find a more suitable application in the Ninja 500 and Z500 due to a broader torque spread and lower redline compared to the Ninja 400.
Chassis Frame
The powerplant is coupled with a slip-and-assist clutch and resides within a typical Kawasaki trellis frame. Kawasaki ensuring the motorcycles offer secure handling and a beginner-friendly seat height. Notably, both bikes comply with A2 standards in Europe.
Features
In terms of features, standard LCD displays are present on both models. While the higher-spec SE variants boast a Bluetooth-equipped TFT display, a USB-C charging port, keyless ignition, and more.
Kawasaki Ninja 500 & Z 500 India Launch
Given Kawasaki’s history of introducing its global lineup in India. Models like the Ninja 400 and ZX-4R, it’s highly probable that the Ninja 500 will make its way to the Indian market next year, potentially accompanied by the Z500.
